Upper Floor Addition, Rear Extension & Home Renovation
THE TRANSFORMATION
The Willoughby project involved a substantial transformation of the existing home. A new upper floor addition and rear extension created additional space across multiple levels, while the renovation of the existing interiors and addition of a swimming pool brought the home together, creating a more cohesive and functional space for family living.
THE CHALLENGES
Flood-risk requirements added complexity to the rear extension, requiring deep excavation and multiple deep foundation piers. The main sewer line also needed to be exposed and supported with concrete haunching beneath the new pool excavation. With the property located on a busy bus route and no street parking available, coordinating deliveries, trades and site access required careful planning throughout construction.
