We are a boutique renovation company on Sydney’s Northern Beaches and North Shore, specialising in premium renovations, home additions and extensions — complex residential projects where the difficulty is real and the standard is not negotiable.
Founded by Craig Nicol, a tradesman with nearly 40 years in the industry, the company takes a deliberately considered approach: fewer projects, more planning, and a builder who understands every element of the work from the ground up.
Inviting a builder into your home is a significant decision, and most of the worry sits before the first day on site — what it will cost, how long it will take, whether anyone will tell you when something changes. We put our weight into that stage: detailed planning, transparent costs, and clear communication from the first conversation.

THE BUILDER
Craig began his career as an apprentice carpenter and joiner in his family’s business in Glasgow, Scotland — trained by what he believes was the last generation of true Master Craftsmen and Builders.
He spent nineteen years working alongside his father before deciding, in 2006, to immigrate to Australia for a better life for his young family.
After settling his family in Sydney, Craig launched Live Love Build in 2010. The name was chosen deliberately. A renovation is never just a construction project — it’s a family’s home. Live. Love. Build.
He still leads every project himself, from the first consultation through to the final walkthrough. Nearly four decades in, the first thing he looks at on a site is the part no one will ever see.
